2. Website Information Only
The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not intended to replace professional mental health advice, diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or an established therapist-client relationship.
Using this website, submitting a contact form, sending an email, or calling the practice does not automatically create a therapist-client relationship. A therapist-client relationship begins only after appropriate intake, consent, scheduling, and acceptance by the practice.
3. No Emergency or Crisis Services Through This Website
This website is not intended for emergencies, crisis intervention, or urgent mental health needs. Do not use this website, email, voicemail, or contact forms for emergencies.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, mental health emergency, suicidal thoughts, thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, or any immediate danger, call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or call/text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
4. Consultations, Appointments, and Scheduling
The website may allow you to request information, contact the practice, or begin the process of scheduling a consultation or counseling appointment. Appointment availability is not guaranteed.
The practice may accept, decline, reschedule, or cancel appointments based on clinical appropriateness, licensure requirements, availability, safety, scope of practice, or other professional considerations.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact information and for notifying the practice if your information changes.
5. Online Therapy and Location Requirements
Online therapy may be available where clinically appropriate and where Lisa B. Hipscher, LPC, LLC is legally permitted to provide services.
Clients are responsible for confirming their physical location at the time of telehealth sessions when requested. Services may be limited based on state licensing rules, professional regulations, clinical appropriateness, technology access, privacy, and safety considerations.
6. Informed Consent, Intake, and Clinical Policies
Before counseling services begin, clients may be asked to review and complete intake documents, informed consent forms, privacy notices, telehealth agreements, payment policies, insurance information, and other clinical or administrative forms.
These clinical forms and practice policies may contain additional terms that apply to the counseling relationship. If there is a conflict between these website Terms and signed clinical documents, the signed clinical documents will generally control for clinical care matters.
7. Fees, Insurance, and Payment
Information about insurance, fees, billing, or payment on this website is provided for general convenience and may change. Coverage, benefits, deductibles, copays, and reimbursement are determined by the client’s insurance plan, not by the website.
Clients are responsible for understanding their financial obligations, including any applicable copays, deductibles, self-pay fees, cancellation fees, or balances not covered by insurance.
8. Cancellations and Missed Appointments
Cancellation, rescheduling, and missed appointment policies may be provided during intake or appointment scheduling. Clients are responsible for reviewing and following the applicable cancellation policy.
The practice may charge fees for late cancellations or missed appointments where permitted by applicable policy, consent forms, and law.
9. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information during intake and treatment, including relevant medical, mental health, medication, safety, and contact information.
Clients participating in telehealth are responsible for using a private location, stable internet connection, and appropriate device when possible.
10. Confidentiality
Counseling services are confidential, subject to legal, ethical, and professional exceptions. These exceptions may include, but are not limited to, risk of harm to self or others, suspected abuse or neglect, court orders, legal requirements, insurance or billing needs, professional consultation, and other circumstances permitted or required by law.
More detailed confidentiality and privacy information may be provided in intake forms, informed consent documents, and any applicable Notice of Privacy Practices.
11. Website Communications
Email, website forms, voicemail, text messages, and other electronic communications may not be fully secure. Please avoid submitting highly sensitive clinical information through general website forms or ordinary email unless instructed by the practice.
The practice makes reasonable efforts to respond to inquiries, but response times are not guaranteed. For urgent or emergency needs, use emergency resources rather than website or email communication.
